PPOC Accreditation and the National Association of Professional Child Photographers 2010 Image Competition Winner

I am so proud and happy to share some news with you all regarding Stephanie Robin Photography & Design. I have been striving to improve in the area of maternity and baby photography as of late. Though my true love lies with newborns – they get me every time – I feel it is equally important to offer stunning maternity and baby portraiture as well in order to provide a well rounded service. To that end, I recently submitted to the PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada) accreditation committee under the category Maternity and, after a review of my work, have earned my accreditation in Maternity Portraiture. I was also thoroughly pleased to have received notice that I had placed in both the Maternity and Baby categories of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers 2010 Image Competition receiving 3rd place in both categories. The competition is held twice yearly and includes submissions from photographers across the globe. Here are my winning submissions for the categories of Maternity and Baby…

Of course, I have not forgotten my adorable newborn subjects. I have been advocating for some time for the inclusion of newborns within the accreditation realm of the PPOC and recently received news that my efforts were not in vain. After many communications with both past Accreditation Chair Nelson Simard and the present Accreditation Chair John Beesley, newborns have been recognized by the PPOC accreditation process and have been included within the Child Portrait category. The category has been renamed Child and Infant Portrait and submissions to the renamed category which MUST include newborn portraiture, will begin as early as April of 2011.

And because I simply cannot resist posting, especially good news, without a few newborns to look at…
